Greetings:
It's unclear to me about the parentage and origins of Gherit Peter Eelkens of 15th/16th century Tilburg. Preliminary information I have uncovered is as follows:
Gherit Peter Eelkens was possibly born about 1460/1475 time frame. He was referred to as "van wijlen Gherit Peter Eelkens" on 6 November 1539 in a deed recorded that day.
He married Elisabeth Goijaert van Spull. They were the parents of Peter Gerit de Jonge, Geritken (married Jan Jansz van Beurden), Lijsbeth (married Jan Gerit Jan Reijnen), Jenneken (first married to Thonis Wouter Thonis; second married to Gielis Peter van Aken), Kathelijn (married Adriaen Beijen), Hadewichs (married Cornelis Jan Wagemaeckers).
There is no doubt that the father of Gherit was named Peter. However, where I am not confident is if we have the correct Peter Eelkens.
According to this pedigree, Peter Gherit Eelkens was married to Katherijn.

In another pedigree, the wife of Peter Gherit Eelkens is identified as Kathelijn Marten Gerrits. So far, I have not found a contemporaneous record which explicitly states that name. In fact, on 1 April 1487, Peter's wife was recorded as "Kathelinen sue uxoris d.w. Gherit Maes."

The point I am trying to make here I am uncertain about Gherit Peter Eelkens and his ancestry. I feel like I am at a fork in the road.
Any help in guiding me in the right direction would be appreciated.
Regards, Steve
